I don’t get where you get think it ever was trying to be a Game Pass? It’s just a merger of Sony’s two subscription services with a new tier. Full stop. It’s just meant to make things easier for current subscribers and entice people to try out the middle tier for just PS4/5 games.

This reminds me of the Twitter user “MattGertz”, who got so tired of being mistaken for a certain South Florida kiddie-diddling congressman, that he added “Definitely not the GOP congressman” to his bio.

Everything else aside, Rock took that slap like it was nothing. It rocked (no pun intended) him pretty good, but he didn’t miss a beat. Rock was so unfazed that at first I thought the whole thing had been staged. Real dignity.

Have they ever given a good reason as to why Call of Duty games are so god damned massive? Do they not compress anything? For what reason? Always been wild to me. It’s not like load times are significantly better between Call of Duty and smaller shooters either.

I’ve been saying for a while that the only thing that might actually force a change in draconian copyright legislation is when it starts to bite the big companies in the ass. Bungie is probably too small to make a difference in this regard but it's a start. These people should target the record labels, big production

Wild makes it sound uncontrolled and unfounded, how about ‘ambitious’? Because Youtube needs a very firm fist mushed through it’s takedown system because it’s a constant stream of this garbage.

You do not seem to understand Why games disallow it... There's literally no reason to use premium currency to begin with, and if they just let you buy things with your local currency, there would be no need to remove funds as they'd never be stored. The Reason they use premium currency is so that you always overspend.

Yeah but you don’t need NFT’s to solve any of the issues you mention. There is no technical reason why Linden labs needs to take a cut, they take a cut because thats how they make money. Shoving an NFT in there won’t change that. There is no technical reason why standard in game assets in SL aren’t for sale other than

“The main advantage im looking at is the ability to remove liquidity made from the sale.” Yeah we get that. Its companies getting paid over and over for the same item while attracting people who could care less about gaming and are there simply to make money. It would also be naive to think game companies would put

Can’t you sell hats and other items in Team Fortress 2 and CSGO?

NFTs don’t allow “removal of liquidity” my guy. They’re still an NFT for that game that can’t be used in any other game or environment. All you're doing is adding a real money store with extra steps.

You seem to be unaware of a lot of things.

Really you’ve never heard of gold selling in Everquest before (or selling accounts etc) - you didn’t say ‘legally’ you said you were unaware - fact is all the things ‘nfts’ let you do are already handled by things as simple as database unique id fields.

Magic: The Gathering Online lets you redeem full sets of digital cards for paper cards.

Diablo 3 had a real money auction house when it launched. It was so awful and poorly received that they took it out, though.

I think Artifact let you sell cards to other players for real money, if that’s what you mean. I also don't see why you need NFTs to do this.

Because you can do all this already without NFTs. You’re adding complexity for zero added value, something that in any other industry would result in you getting your walking papers.

Except both MTX/cash shops and always online (which honestly isn’t even an issue) can be beneficial for both companies and gamers even if that isn’t always, or even usually, how it works out.

SBB was a popular game in one of the communities I frequent, and the moment word of this buyout came down, the opinion was pretty much unanimously “Well, it was fun while it lasted.” People immediately dropped it like it was on fire and made of spiders. 😬
