Regarding Comcast, I highly recommend using social media — specifically their Twitter account and/or their customer forum — to ask about promotions (and, honestly, for any other issues).

I recently lowered my Comcast bill by a significant amount and received exactly the package I wanted with no contract, no pushy

The way he stripped off his coat and just threw it on her like she was a coat rack elevated him to douche status for me even before he decided to impress us all with his acrobatics.

This! Every word of this!

I have had coworkers who didn’t even know my fiance’s name — a man who has been the most important person in my life for 11 years — yet find it appropriate to not only continually ask me why I haven’t set a date, but also offer their OWN suggestions and completely unsolicited advice about

I had a hard time receiving flowers for ages because (a) starting with the very first time I ever received them, most of the times I had received flowers were for reason b above, i.e., “he fucked up,” so they had a negative association for me and (b) I can’t help but mentally compare them to a car depreciating the

I was just coming to add this exact thing.

I can’t tell you how many times people expect me to know, right off the top of my head, whether or not that eavesdropping law referenced on The Good Wife is an actual thing or what the minimum sentencing requirements are for second offense sexual battery as referenced on Law

Agreed here, too. For example, there's also a lot of variance in some of the southern states. The incomes posted there for Georgia and Tennessee are likely accurate enough for some of the more rural areas, but would not work in Nashville and Atlanta.

I'm 35 and I've been engaged for over a year and I *still* haven't thought about those things! I can't get interested in veils and white dresses when SEASON THREE OF HOUSE OF CARDS IS ON NETFLIX.

The furthest we've gotten in wedding planning is "Let's just go to Sandals so that none of our horrible family members will

As a knitter, I'm so happy to see all of the sock love here. Getting socks (or any knitting) from me means you're on my Ultimate List. I don't knit for just anyone, and I have to be pretty certain that you're not going to be disappointed by something that took me hours/days to make.

Also, if you're in an area with them, check flea markets, yard sales, and the like, too. My dad has kept my entire family supplied with good quality cast iron cookware and bakeware by simply picking up pre-loved pieces for a few dollars, cleaning them up, and passing them on.

This is an excellent one. I bought a set of Calphalon tri-ply stainless cookware when Amazon was having an INCREDIBLE sale on it about 12 years ago. It still looks (and cooks and cleans up) like it's brand new.

It was a difficult purchase to make at the time because, even at the (seriously, amazing) 50% savings, it

I noticed in the "hey, we are raising prices on everything" insert in my most recent bill from Comcast that, sure enough, their modem rental fees are going from $8/month to $10/month effective 1/1/15.

I'm going to guess Comcast — I just saw on a bill insert in my most recent bill from them that they are raising rental fees from $8/month to $10/month effective 1/1/15.

Somehow when I saw "$30 cookbook" in your post I knew that was the one. I just picked up a copy at Costco earlier this week. It's delightful!

Just stumbled on this one by accident:

Amazon seems to have the PC/Mac version of the most recent Diablo III expansion, Reaper of Souls, for half price today ($19.99).

I'd planned to pick it up today anyway and when I searched Amazon for it the price initially came up as $34.99 (still cheaper than the digital download

Others have pointed out that she was likely in a science PhD program with classes in the medical school. But, just to add another possibility: Vandy also offers multi-disciplinary courses and certificates, as well as joint degree programs, where divinity school students might have classes in the medical school or

+1! (With particular emphasis to the not shooting the messenger part. <3).

Now, personally, I don't give them any money because I'm still paying off the privilege of my attendance, but I'll happily cite another reason for my inability to donate.

Besides, I'd like to think that the $$$$ I spent on my education should

Absolutely agreed and understood. As I stated, "it depends on your area and the ... education generally required."

I'll simply have to apologize for not having time or inclination to read each of the "ad nauseam" replies to the other comments that were made before throwing in my own two cents' worth of anecdata.

Yet,

It certainly depends on your area and the amount of education generally required to earn those teaching salaries, but in my area I would be plenty happy to be making $50k ten years out of school with a bachelor's degree (and, in my case, no student loans, since I didn't have any of those until I went to grad school).

Maybe it's the difference between "traditional" and not, but the Banh Mi I've had didn't have headcheese on it. Just pork or chicken.
