This is straight-up dumb. If she can’t vote for a spending bill that includes funding for ICE, she is completely off the board and everyone knows it. It wasn’t a deciding vote, today. Doesn’t mean she won’t always be a deciding vote. There are other ways to abolish ICE.  (I still think she is pretty awesome...)

Gardner has crossed the isle on this budget shit, though.  (At least he said he was going to.)  To many federal employees in CO to ignore.

Sales taxes, even “luxury taxes, tend to be really regressive and create a lot of black/grey market economies.  If you want progressive taxation, income/wealth taxes are the way to go.  Note: you literally cannot buy the foodstuffs you mention within walking distance where much of the working class poor actually

Note: Short term capital gains are currently taxed as ordinary income.  I messed that up.

I’ve been arguing this for years. Treat all income the same!

I’m not saying it isn’t fair. I’m saying it isn’t necessary, and only really stupid people will get caught by it. The truly wealthy don’t earn money the same way you and I do. The compensation packages these folks put together for themselves are tailored to avoid as much income tax as possible. They routinely shift

This is currently correct.

We are on the same page for the most part. I’m just arguing that separate taxation for capital gains is actually the more glaring issue if you really want people who are already wealthy to actually pay their fair share to support the public infrastructure and rule of law that actually make these kinds of earning

Extreme marginal tax rates are bullshit unless you do away with “capital gains” as an income class. Treat all income the same and you don’t even need a marginal tax rate above 45-50%. Plus, you have the added benefit of actually getting “old money” to pay their fair share. The reason the truly wealthy are able to

Because he wants to make sure you are someone who pays their bills.  Evictions cost money...

The only weird thing I notice is his completion stats for right and left sides of the field. His percentage is substantially higher on the right side. Not sure if there is something funky with his footwork/motion, or if its just that they tend to put Ross on the right side of the formation. ESPN pointed it out after

Stop going to church. Go for a walk or put in service hours.  Either one will bring you closer to god than the inside of a church...

This would actually be an interesting test of Citizen’s United.  If a corporation technically has all of the rights of an individual; then these types of laws should be unconstitutional.

Are you lumping Saisons in with Sour beers? I feel like some of those could be a solid gateway, also.  (I normally would not put them in the sour category. But, lately, I’ve noticed a few saisons in moving a bit more toward the sour’s taste profile.)

Not a lawyer. But no NDA covers shit you made up. If they go after him on the NDA, they are establishing said “shit” as fact. Unlikely anyone is coming after him about the NDA. (There is sometimes a NDA clause that covers disclosure of said NDA. Maybe, they go after that if they thought to include it. It would be a

Catch 22 on those. He can’t get sued for violating the NDA unless what he said was true. So, if they go after him on the NDA they are admitting to them being factual statements.

Came for this.  Thanks.

The issue is Friedmanesque capitalism. (Maximize profit at all cost, company only exists to serve the shareholder, etc.) I would also seriously question whether or not social support systems have gotten better. (While they may have improved, they are overwhelmed. The shear number of workers who need help is increasing

This same type of nutter use to say, almost word for word, the same thing about catholics...

I see one good thing on that hideous facade. They’ve dropped the headlamps down a bit instead of having them at the top of the grill.
