As a man who's father drove a 74, 82 and a 99 Burb, I feel Im qualified to answer this. The 4x4's are more plentiful and cheaper because of their appalling mileage. Stick with 2wd unless you're a hardcore off roader. And dear god are they sound. The 99 we have right now has 220,000 miles and just runs great, we get

Career question: How did you decide to pursue automotive journalism as a career and what were the other fields (if any) that you thought of going into?

Excellent writeup again! Loving these Classic reviews, much more than the "regular" ones.

Tires are practically new and the guy was mid 60s.

ZR1 for 5k? Sign me up!

Well, I do have a backseat technically but folding it is useless because my parcel shelf is permanent and filled with speakers haha no cage yet. Plus i consider it a challenge!

What car?

Casey Anthony

whoops nvm

my vote as well

looks like a pontiac 4 door to me

Mine's still stock save for the wheels! I love these cars

I recently got 44.5 mpg with mine on a long 1,600 mile roadtrip. Despite the cars humble chassis, it's stiffly sprung and very agile. That engine is just a jewel. Also the JDM ones make 130 hp so theres that too

I know it's nigh impossible with modern efficiency standards but could you AVOID ELECTRIC POWER STEERING AT ALL COSTS!? I realize that pwr steering is something people are used to and demand(but they dont need it) but for the love of god lets not do what Porsche did and sacrifice steering feel for economy

Probably would be the three cylinder Geo Metro convertible. There is something refreshing about a car with NO sporting pretensions at all. Just a little toy car with the roof cut off giving it a really fun feeling.

Looks well worth the wait tho!

Oh my yes. Such an epic run for him too
