Those devs aren’t seeing a single dime. This is being handed off to a different studio, a studio that could be polishing up an update for Bloodborne.

I’ve only played through OG Half-Life once on disc the summer of 99' , 3 times via the Ps2 version, and one half-hearted attempt with the source port. Years ago I picked up the Source port for a nickel and was not impressed. But my time with this free-lease has been an absolute blast.

Looking over my wishlist(150+ games) nothing has a deep enough discount to nab since I’m still chewing on AW2 and Spiderman 2. Honestly I’ve just been distracted by Half-Life the last few days. Holds up really well. 

I did manage to score a copy of MK11: Ultimate last year for Ps5 brand at a local overstock mall for 5 dollars. I’ve yet to crack the seal, but I’ve been itching to recently, though it’s not a priority. 

That’s all well and good, but when they start pulling characters in from SP only games and other properties, they’re cheapened. Tantamount to stapling great pieces of fiction onto a dancing puppet fueled by pure greed. It’s gross and sad at the same time.

Sometimes it’s best to leave well enough alone. Outliers being new takes on old properties by people who fundamentally understand them. But that’s so, so, rare that they would have probably still found success not using an existing IP. 

Nobody asked me but I think it should at least skip a gen before it’s time to remaster. Gen over gen is a bit much. And for all the folks happy to pay the 10 bucks without criticism, PC games are regularly remastered and don’t charge for the upgrade. It’s almost a given on PC.

Get what you’re saying, but I can’t ignore it just because Fortnite has already jumped the shark while banging an octopus. It may not bring a narrative structure that has been bastardized by the introduction of so many IPs but it sure makes the practice look good. Other studios are tripping over their own dicks to get…

Pretty much. Fortnite is the biggest offender, but you didn’t mention it for some reason? The thought of shooting at a cartoon Banana while cosplaying as Alan Wake seems so discordant. Or Chun-Li sniping Ellen Ripley? It’s obnoxious and diminishes the original properties. Shoehorning in the cameos into MK11 actively…

She basically confirms that is is the other cookies but was a “one-off batch”. Mildly interested in the cheaper bigger version, cause I’m big and cheap. But according to what they said in this interview it doesn’t exist anymore. Oh well!

Unlike the console versions, the PC edition doesn’t require the disc to play, and comes with a digital key. The DVD is just there to give you a custom installer.
