I went with someone that never saw another star wars movie or piece of media and immediately after the movie she wanted to know the entire back story and watch the originals. if the story compels you to want more of it, you’ve made something more than just entertaining

sure its derivitive, but it takes from such a broad range of source material. also, the story is compelling enough that i can suspend disbelief while reading, even through the liberal use of deus ex machina.
