What could possibly go wrong with this plan?

Yes, I have two children, and I’ve witnessed my 13-year-old acutely suffer from the social isolation we’ve inflicted on children over the last 16 months, to the point of spiralling into severe depression.

The chance of what? Are you really going to argue that young kids are at serious risk from Covid? Again, the science is very clear that there is little to no risk of serious illness, let alone death. The flu is a more serious illness in children tha. Covid. This is not a controversial statement, but I can’t imagine

The air-conditioning compressor, alternator, driveshafts, airbags, front suspension, and front body have all been replaced over the years,

+1 for the use of “pop fountain”

First Gear reminds me of a Road and Track article that turned up in yesterday about there being no middle cars; everything is either very pricy and comfortable or cheap and nasty.

This has nothing to do with manufacturers “realizing” anything. It’s simple supply/demand curve analysis. (really not simple as there are so many models and manufacturers) BUT, this is just an adjustment of the supply curve as it is constrained across the whole industry by the parts shortages. So, with high enough

Exactly. The 4Runner is a vintage platform and there is nothing special about it. Why a person of reasonable sanity would walk in and drop $52G++ for such an old platform (especially vs. used) is beyond me. However, we live in fictional times, so nothing actually surprises me anymore; and yes, those will sell with

Don’t worry, they’ll get you on the undercoating.

Hasn’t had a major model revision since 2009, so...Vintage markup: $25,000"

It is called pull the damn fuse and drop the windows and screw that synthesized bullcrap. I had an SRT-4 so I am experienced with the operation of loud-ass econo sedans, if I went for something like this I would want to hear the actual sounds of the car even if they are not considered digitally “perfect”, the various q

Yah, im thinking at some point we need a nongendered but less impersonal word for “person”.

Problem is that vehicles that have come out in the last 5-10 years have still been designed and signed off by the people responsible for GM 15-20 years ago. The change in workforce generations has not caught up to the leadership roles quite yet, but it’s moving. Having a whole slew of “trendy designers and smart

GM has all these trendy designers and smart engineers but they repeatedly end up with uninspiring vehicles. The Chevy Bolt has technology to rival Tesla at a better price but no one wants it. The Silverado is a good truck, but it’s butt ugly. There is no central vision that results in good cohesive products.

Kia has been putting out some good looking vehicles lately, Telluride and Stinger specifically. Kia and Hyundai are the same thing with different badges and styles, I tend to prefer the looks of the Kia counterpart over the Hyundai one in the current gen.

I’ve said this before, Elon needs to be played by the same actor as Le Chiffre when the inevitable biopic comes out.

There are some clouds over yonder, shouldn’t you be yelling at them?
