Totally almost as bad as heroine...totally

I watched a documentary about the criminalization of marijuana, and that’s pretty much precisely the whole point. The problem, as they saw it, was that it was literally a weed, so poor people, especially in the south (read: Black) and California (read: Mexicans) were able to procure and smoke it easily, and bring it

As someone who has done All Of The Drugs and Drinks Too Much Alcohol I can say for 100% certainty that booze is way fucking worse than pot.

I live in Oregon & you can pry my sleepy-time weed from my cold, dead hands. It’s seriously one of the only things that helps me sleep. And you do NOT want to deal with a sleep-deprived jpomonkey.

I tend to agree. More of a trigger than a cause, perhaps.

Strange that prescription drug abuse is never addressed by these geriatric white men....

I think it’s possible he’s in a physical state that he doesn’t want the world to see (maybe he’s gained a lot of weight, looks a lot older, whatever!). In that case, he has the right to not have to show himself to millions. *Shrug*

I don’t smoke pot (I would, but it makes me far too giggly and sleepy) so I usually hang out with fellow lushes. Since your father likes personal experiential anecdotes, you can tell him that the last time I was offered a joint it was by one of the most successful and esteemed people I know, a psychiatrist in his 60s.

Wellllll, marijuana can be a contributing factor to one’s first psychotic break. That being said, there are plenty of other environmental (not to mention genetic) factors at play as well, and so claiming that the onset of psychosis is exclusively due to marijuana use is naive at best.

But...but...what about the private prisons? Won’t someone please think of the executives and shareholders?

I, for one, don’t believe your dad.

What about pot being a scary gateway drug? It’s going to suck you in and ruin your life. Sarcasm aside, I smoked pot more than I ever drank when I was a teenager/young adult, but never tried anything stronger than that. It’s not very scientific but none of my friends who smoked pot with me ended up being heavy drug

The problem with clinicians is that a) they see a relatively small portion of the population, and b) the sample that they get ALREADY has a problem - that’s why they’re going to a psychiatrist in the first place. And since they’re not scientists, they don’t understand that correlation =/= causation. So they end up

Millions of alcoholics and their loved ones have suffered greatly.

I got news for that dipshit: somebody he knows smokes that awful stuff, probably somebody close to him, and probably more than just one person.

Don’t forget tobacco.

No no no no, alcohol is good for America. Because reasons. Reasons that have nothing to do with white people being the ones who have historically gotten rich off it.

It’s late in the day-but Trump fucking laid a wreath at ANDREW JACKSON’S FUCKING GRAVE. And then sent out a tweet THANKING HIM FOR HIS LEGACY. Just a quick reminder that Andrew Jackson’s Legacy is:

“They have a young audience and a terrific digital platform,” said David Pecker, AMI’s chief executive, said of Us in an interview.

I flip it around :)
