This is just untrue. Third parties run downticket candidates constantly and with a great deal of zeal. The Greens and Libs support downticket races as a party far more than the DNC does, but less than the GoP who have controlled state-level offices as strategy for decades now.

You forget that one of the leading figures who wants to dismantle the CFPB is Debbie W-S who was, until recently, the chair of the DNC.
