I think getting attached to people really fast is just something he does (probably for exactly the reason you said). It's really sort of endearing. That being said, I hope he and Tulip can be friends for awhile, they have an excellent rapport

I am, I enjoyed it so much in the first season, now the people running it don't seem to understand what made it special in the first place. I almost forgot it was on yesterday, and not because of the fourth, which I celebrated a day early. I'll still tune in to see how the season plays out, since there are bits and

Sure.

Well, I liked Tulip for the most part, but I definitely enjoy her TV counterpart more. perhaps Amy deserves a second look? I haven't read the comic in years. In any case I liked that they gave her a gal pal, male driven comics usually neglect to do that for their female protagonists.

Well, Eugene was looking forward to setting Jesse straight and being friends. But then he was disappointed because he just ended up in hell instead.

I don't agree with any of this, but you're entitled to your opinion.

Yeah, there's just something about the way they're going about this show that makes me think my patience will be rewarded. Until then I'm enjoying the bits and pieces.

Well I hope you end up liking it more eventually. Nothing's worse than being disappointed by something you were really looking forward to.

Yeah, but considering he didn't really feel that way until he got some proof of God i.e. Genesis (which isn't God as he originally suspected, but still proof of God), I just don't entirely hold that against him. It's like that show The Leftovers, it's all about how insane the world would go if the proof of

That's a valid point. For the purpose of a TV show, I prefer a protagonist who makes some tragic mistakes, has to learn from them, and eventually develops into that person we know. It just provides more conflict that way, and rescuing Eugene from hell is an interesting way to get the character on the road with them,

I just can't stand by people who constantly indulge in things that make them this unhappy. I don't get it, sorry. I guess I get hate watching, but not for episodes on end, who has the time for that? I feel like some of the people who dislike the changes are able to have a rational conversation about why they dislike

I know, that's not what I meant. I explained my hypothesis about genesis a little better in the reply.

I read the comics and I adore the show, so it's not like all of the comic lovers are inevitably going to hate it.

Well, I'm sure they'll explain that. I'm guessing he killed her kid (I have a theory that he is also somehow involved with the Angelville guys, but that remains to be seen). As for Jesse, I guess that's a matter of opinion. I find him very compelling.

I did, the show is different though. It seems like in the context of the show having this power is extremely corrupting and difficult for Jesse to resist and control, which wasn't the case so much in the book, he had it and wasn't much worse for the wear. This is what I mean when I say Genesis is the villian. I'm not

I don't think Jesse is the supervillian here, I think Genesis is. I guess I could be wrong, but probably not.

They aren't staying there that's for sure. At the very least they'll be gone by the finale. Amy is Tulip's BFF in the comics, at least I think her name was Amy.

At this point I just want to tell everyone who bitches constantly about the changes from the comic to either stop watching or get the fuck over it. They're really ruining the discussion for the people who enjoy it the way it is, or at the very least dislike it on its own merits.

Completely disagree about the Tulip and Emily stuff. Although I'm really worried about Emily at this point. I've grown so fond of her, yet I have a feeling she along with the rest of the town (sans the core three, natch) won't make it out of season one alive. Although it would be sort of neat if Emily is a stand in

I would be more pissed at her for playing with his feelings, but he's known her for like 25 minutes, don't blame her at all for not realizing that he's completely serious.
