The vocal delivery is "twee and effeminate?" Really? Is that what not sounding like a ghetto thug equates to these days?

This episode would be a great thing for business travelers to show people who say to them, "Wow, you travel for your job? That must be so fun!"

Simple Minds had a few other standout singles. "Promised You a Miracle" is one of the best New Wave songs anyone's done. "All the Things She Said" and "Alive and Kicking" are also excellent.

Seems like Woody Allen was doing the same basic thing in the '70s, only he was more verbal about it.

Isn't that what most of live theater is? I liked the scenes. It's always nice to see John Lithgow when he's not screaming.

Part of me is interested to see how all this goes next season. Another part of me is quite ready to write this show off. A breezy nerd/geek sitcom centered around 20-somethings who do little else than play video games, read comics, and eat take-out almost every night feels quite different when they turn into

Do you mean have Leonard cheat on Penny by having sex with someone, not just kissing? If so, I agree. That plot development had "network censor" written all over it. It would have been a much more interesting (and realistic) dilemma, though.

The way she kept telling her partner to shut up in the hospital, I wanted to smack her in the head with a shovel.

Mom Side Thread:

Lorre's company produced it, and he is listed as an EP, but I'm not sure if it's a "Chuck Lorre show" the way others are.

Yeah, I noticed that too. It doesn't help that his only role on this show seems to be Nasty Little Instigator.

She's Catholic and he's spineless. They're not getting divorced. Unfortunately, TV's cure-all for dysfunctional relationships usually involves a baby.

I think "next state over" is just an expression, like "two towns over." It's not meant to be a literal description.

Marco's story felt like something out of Playhouse 90 or The Naked City - American short-story tragedy brilliantly delivered to the small screen. It's too bad we can't see more of him.

Yeah, that's a fantastic run of albums. I think they're brilliant. And to me, the way their music brings out as much hate in some listeners as it does love in others suggests a high degree of that thing called originality so many claim to want to hear.
