I think the extended shot of Jimmy watching the twins get their legs broken was necessary for his character, and the audience. It drives home the situation he's in and getting into. Lest we get nostalgic for Tuco, the pacing goes a long way in re-establishing how unstable and violent he is.

This episode would make a great Labor Day tribute to the unsung heroes of the working world who who spend their time constantly putting out metaphorical fires, coming up with creative solutions to impossible problems, and making their idiot bosses look good.

I'm thinking Monica/Rachel and Chandler/Ross on Friends, and Jerry/George/Elaine on Seinfeld .

I'm taking from the lack of activity on this thread that other viewers are having as hard a time connecting with this show as I am.

You're right. Ilana's antics are great from a distance. In anything other than a sitcom, that business would get old real quick.

You cant have two people on the same show do the same act.

I've tried using that reasoning with women I ask out, that my short frame, beer belly and nose hair doesn't make me objectively unattractive, it's just their opinion. They don't seem to go for it.

I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop during that Craig Robinson halftime show. Instead all we got was an overlong, below-mediocre commercial for Pepsi. That was odd.

I remember the first stand-up-and-cheer sniper I saw in a film, Private Jackson from Saving Private Ryan. The audience couldn't get enough of his sharp-shooting, the way he could put a bullet through a Kraut's eye at 500 yards.

A Twilight Zone reboot that combined today's special effects with the original series' sense of purpose would be pretty sweet.

I think the only reason I would watch this is Jane Krakowski.

I'm so glad you mentioned Mom. I've been wandering the Internet singing this show's praises. Its first season was uneven. This year it's one of the best sitcoms on TV. The fact that it's a Chuck Lorre production makes its quality even more astonishing.

"Anybody want to switch seats?" (Those two lines crack me up every time!)

A great Nelson Muntz quote to use whenever a project your working on completely fails:

You don't make love to Max Power, you strap yourself in and FEEL THE Gs!!!

Becky: "You got Poison to play at our wedding?"

Lisa: "Pablo Neruda said laughter is the language of the soul."

[Must be quoted in a conga line]:

It doesn't happen a lot, but it does happen: Juno, Sideways, Toy Story 3, Midnight in Paris, Little Miss Sunshine, Chicago, Moulin Rouge for example.

For some reason, unlike in the last 10 years there's a lot of films here I want to see. They should still cut the Best Picture nominations back to 5, or split the category between Dramas and Comedy/Musicals, like the Golden Globes.
