Funny you should mention that. Two years ago, I was riding a 2-stroke 125cc bike at thunderhill. It seized - without notice - between turns one and two. I high-sided and spent the night in the hospital. After I got out, I decided to rebuild the bike as an all-electric.

"Oh no, my motor locked up without any warning signs whatsoever."

He's just lucky the logo has mirror symmetry; otherwise it would look ridiculous.

I forget, has Jalopnik posted about C.A.R.S (Community Assisted Racing Sim)? It looks to be pretty cool, they're letting contributors influence what cars get worked on and I believe they've got one of the former Stigs helping out with cornering feel: [www.wmdportal.com]

SF goes from easy to terrible depending on where you are. There are plenty of garages in downtown, but if you get out to... say, the Haight, it might be better to just abandon your car and buy a new one later.

One of my best childhood memories is from the time when my dad towed me around the neighborhood in a sled behind an ATC (you know, the 3-wheeled ones that fell out of favor because they were so unsafe). We lived in SoCal, so it was amazing that we even had snow! Our neighbors were laughing their asses off; I couldn't

Oh man, I remember number 4 from back in the day. The cameraman's commentary is just as good now as it was then.

'Sup DIY EV buddy! As soon as I get a few more parts to make my Aprilia street-legal, I'll be using it to do my daily commute. The way I see it, every drop of gas not used for boring driving is another drop that can be used for motorsports.

Now I kinda want to put a rust patina on a CF / fiberglass car and see if anyone in the rat rot circuit calls me out on it.

Guys, I think you're looking too hard into this. Audi makes the staggeringly gorgeous R8 and Ducati makes some consistently beautiful bikes - I STILL miss my old 999 (but not the gap it left in my bank account) - this is just a Hollywood hook-up. It's Brad Pitt marrying Angelina Jolie. It's Bowie marrying Iman.

I have the opposite problem. I completely rebuilt the wiring harness for a motorcycle with little trouble, but when it came to doing the brakes I was mystified for days.

It looks like they pulled off the road when the fire started, and there was no room on the right side of the road for them to pull off.

With enough confidence and a $100 haircut, probably. Just get ready for some snubbing when that credit check comes through.

I haven't driven a ton of manual cars, does that clutch throw seem REALLY short to anyone else?

Oh, haven't you heard the old UK adage that they roll out in times of strife? (edit for nibbles: [imgur.com] )

See, what _I_ did was get the car I wanted before I met my fiancee. Then, I just had to plant the "I want a project car for rally" seed with a few "oh man, I've been saving for years; trying to find the right car at the right time..." conversations.

Did I black out, make a new account and post this? Better promote it anyway.

That's very cool. I've got a soft spot for really old cars like that - my grandfather willed his Model T to my brother and myself; it's currently with a family friend until one of us has the space to store and care for it.

I was wondering what car they used, thanks for pointing that out! What happened to your Winton?
