I think I detect a little bit of elitism in that vinyl versus paint paragraph. Still, it's convinced me that if I'm working on a race car, vinyl will be just fine for the likes of me.

Ah, Patton. Thanks for the early-morning laugh!

I'll just spare you all my usual why-bring-the-name-back-at-all-if-you're-not-going-to-respect-what-made-it-great-you-clearly-don't-get-how-brand-loyalty-works rant.

Next you're going to tell me that the endangered Tree Octopus is fake, too.

Brand-wise, how are they differentiating the Corvette from the Camaro? It's not like the 'Vette is a luxury marque or anything.

No kidding, an RS250? I've got an RS125 I'm fixing up, and I hope to get it on there someday. The closest I've gotten was turn 9 at t-hill.

The smaller scale of karting really takes the teeth out of the corkscrew. Shit looks terrifying in a full-size car and purely nightmarish on a bike.

Yeah, I'd definitely like a better way to see at-a-glance if I have replies. For a few days I was finding out about my replies from Kotaku, but then they went to the new format as well. I'm not a big fan of updates that remove useful features, especially ones that help me engage with an awesome community. #cotomersevis

#oppositelock So, how do we actually know when someone has replied to us with the new Jalopnik format? I thought everyone was ignoring me and it just turns out that the reply notifications have gone away.

Get the Mythbusters on the horn so they can show us what the original attempt looked like!

Interesting thoughts on MIG v TIG, I'd only heard of smaller, light-duty stuff being TIG welded.

I think that implies too much "Robustus" for Lotus.

Step 1: stop car

Hey, my post is missing!

I must have some kind of head trauma where I'm unable to see posts with the words "Audi R8" in the text, because this article should be jam-packed with them.

Hyundai is on the fast-track to get a lot of respect from me. First the Genesis Coupe and now this? I see big things in their future.

Taking a shitbox and doing fun stuff with it is what rally is all about. It's the stone soup of the automotive world.

I read Jalopnik mostly at work, so I often skip over the longer comments - such as this one. I'm immensely grateful that not everyone subscribes to that philosophy and that this story got the CoTD nod, because my life is richer for having read it.

Man, this one's off to a bad start. I think TG's gonna need a mid-season replacement for our chatty friend here.

@TimTim: Damn son. It's rare we get to see the quadruple-entendre.
