@stoke 2.0: I'd be willing to pass on the "one of one" issue if it meant I'd actually be able to GET one. You know, defer that engineering cost a bit - and you'll have instant camaraderie with the few others who own them.

@Taggart6: I'm a Tank: It's more common than one might hope. Like any industry where a lot of money is being thrown around, there's a lot of ball being played.

@Scandinavian Flick: Each of us can take a stand in our own way. For example, I ditched my expensive, complicated, just-take-it-to-the-dealer-and-effin'-pay motorcycle and picked up one that I could learn to fix myself.

@reynoldswrap: "They ruined the art style and the feel that the game had going for it, and it became impossible for me to take the game seriously anymore."

"He also told Top Gear that the Pagani Zonda F is his favorite car, but we're hopeful that that was just an automatic response to a lame question and that his real automotive taste is much more interesting."

@GreenN_Gold: Ahahaha, I came here to post this - I saw one at an auto show and my brother, father and myself were all boggled as to how small the trunk opening is. If it won't fit between those sessy taillights, it won't fit in your trunk.

@Turboner: Fully agreed. We've got the biggest American rally star in years and people are complaining that he's too into marketing... are people thinking this through? If we'd had someone ten years ago who sold themselves this well, maybe we wouldn't be skulking around the ghetto of the Versus channel to get WRC

His real crime was trying to have a good time in a vehicle whilst living in England. History will remember this man - not as a criminal - but as the man who fired the first shot in the "come on then, chaps; isn't all this auto safety ballyhoo a bit daft?" wars.

My older brother used to push me around the house in a laundry basket while I made "vroom" noises. Outgrowing the basket was traumatic and - aside from a few assorted racing games - I didn't really get into driving again until after I had my license.

@f86sabre: I'm guessing the young blonde girls came later in life.

All that's missing is the Ring time, and I suspect that's where the difference would show. Still, it's impressive that the Mustang performs so well for being so cheap - as impressive as the fact that the Beemer has all the luxury equipment but still compare to the 'Stangs weight.

I have a firm "you don't eff with a person's car" policy but I'll be damned if this isn't making me reconsider.

@packetloss: You may have had it without realizing it - it's a dry, bland material that usually feels pretty gritty against your teeth. It's the lazy recourse for cake-makers who want things to look "just so".

...and that's why you don't cheat on the mechanic's sister.

@Jeb_Hoge: The steering wheels on those F1 cars have a lot of buttons... maybe he meant to cycle the display and just pressed the wrong one?

@armyofchuckness: I'll make it five - up until the internet came around, I was afraid I'd just made up the entire show because none of my friends remembered it.

@$kaycog: I used to think that the GT was this rare gem, but you have this uncanny knack for finding them in EVERY STORY.

@Tanshanomi: Brilliant. Buying their fix out of the back of a hearse might make a few of 'em think twice - especially if you dress like a pallbearer and act with solemnity.

I recognize that freeway - keepin' an eye out for this thing on the way to work.
