i got a 3.5-2.5 adapter on newegg for $3.99 shipped, plus it has room for a second additional 2.5" should the opportunity arise. i dont see the particular no-name brand available anymore but there are plenty sub $5 and some SDD's do come with them

Unless your router is new/ expensive getting one that does support dd-wrt and tomato is an option ( basic models can be under $50) I love these firmwares and if privacy is a concern you can use them to put your entire home network behind a vpn
