Absolutely terrible thing to have happened. 2 innocent dead 1 a baby and a father and family and parents left in grief beyond imagine. I mean when I was a kid I drag raced also and it was never the right thing to do on the street ever for any reason, but a 102 mph? Incredibly stupid.

It has something to do with the high air flow of modern engines. If they were too close together they rob each other of air. Also they draw air around the entire engine evenly and it puts less stress on the wing evenly spread out.
