Never trust a Scot lacking both a final T and a kilt.

Really, Barry? You don’t get why some people (myself included) don’t like Sidney Crosby? He’s probably the dirtiest superstar to ever play the game. Maybe there’s a worse one, but I can’t think of one off the top of my head. I didn’t follow his junior career all that closely, so maybe he’s always been like this, or

“OK sure, what’s the worst that could happen?”

More raisist than sexist but whatever.

ugggh Crosby always seems to be “bothered” by some team during the playoffs. For the best player in the game it surprised me learn that he has only posted a positive +/- in one postseason since 2010 and that was a first round elimination in which he was +1. Even last year he somehow got the Conn Smythe despite being

He really is a nice dude. I worked with his mother and niece for a few years in state government, and he would come by to take them to lunch during the offseason. Genuinely nice family.

Ross is a genuinely nice human being and Marky Mark once threw acid on a guy, so he’s not getting the part.

One week ago, Albert Burneko wrote in the comments: “You really can’t conceive of any reason to want your team to advance in the playoffs other than a clear likelihood that they’ll be the one team in the entire conference that gets to play in the Finals? It’s truly inconceivable to you that somebody might want to see

Well yes, but this isn’t about watching basketball. Burneko is upset because the storylines on his favorite soap aren’t as interesting as they were last year.

Now they will be the fresher, much more well-rested favorites, waiting in Oakland for a jet-lagged underdog to arrive.

details of how exactly he fell are not known

If he finds his swing in AA and AAA, who knows, maybe they’ll make Tebow Harvey’s designated best friend and roommate!

Tebow: [Barging into Harvey’s room, jogging in place] Hey Matthew! It’s 4:30, time to hit the gym!
Harvey: [Groggliy] 4:30? Shit, I overslept. Where are we going for dinner?
Tebow: [doing jumping jacks]

Ugh get out of here with your thoughtful heartwarming anecdote that shows his true nature! This thread is for crapping on David Ortiz!!!!!

I thought the near-HBP came because Bundy plunked Betts the night before.

Racism exists in every city in America, and most of the rest of the world for that matter.

Realistically speaking, the Red Sox and their fans are like 1/1,000,000th of the culture of this city. Most of the people who live here are completely indifferent to them. Some, like myself, think they’re one of a few unsightly blemishes on an otherwise wonderful city (I’m looking at you, MBTA.) So talk all the smack

No one who says Boston is racist believes it’s the only racist city. New York is racist. Chicago is racist. Los Angeles is racist. A lot of places are racist. All places are racist.

Let’s condemn the deplorable act. Let’s not condemn the city.

On the flip side, the Bruins were the first NHL team to integrate. The Celtics were the second NBA team.

I grew up in Chicago (more than 40 years) and now live in Boston (about 5 years). I can concur with you about neither being the most racist place. I’ve had my moments but I’ve also had moments in other cities too.
