That's kinda what George Takei was saying about gay Sulu. And good for him.

I also liked how - despite PC aspirations - the only two black people in the ghostbusters universe had to be related.
Really odd how the movie was so obsessed with the ghostbusters logo.In the original, that was the icing - here it was the cake.
The original was shot like a horror movie. It was the gravity of the situation that made the jokes pop. This was sitcom bullshit. Cram as many jokes in - relevant to the story or not - and hope something lands. It's like they had no faith in the conceit. Which is a travesty because the conceit is genius.
Exactly. It's sitcom shit. I loathe 'the dumb guy' character in assemble sitcoms. But in a movie? In freakin' GHOSTBUSTERS?
Oh, I'm interested. VERY interested.
Doesn't even make sense. The original secretary, Jeanine, was tough, street-smart and well-read. So why is her male counterpart so dumb he can barely walk? I'm sure there are hollywood movies that objectify women and treat them like idiots - but Ghostbusters wasn't one of them. Not even sure who or what they're taking…
I like how they hired him even though he's clearly unqualified and possibly brain damaged because women make poor business decisions.
Seriously.
I like how they bothered to come up with new and innovative ghost designs like slimer, dragon and um… girl slimer.
Well, gentlemen, I guess our work here is done. Time to go support Trump.
I like how this movie kept saying 'Don't compare it to the original' 'We're doing our own thing' - and then when you see it's like 80% references and cameos.
The plot is so weak it's insane. Just hand waving. Bare minimum. For a movie that expensive and important (franchise potential, etc.) I was shocked how lazy and sloppy the script was.
I like the part where they set up the idea that there was this other team of "Ghost Hunters" - who have their own TV but it's all fake and they're giving the REAL paranormal investigators a bad name - and then did nothing with that.
You're right.
I saw it recently. I don't blame the women. I blame the men. And the dog.
Exactly. Just once I'd like to see the workaholic dad learn his lesson, choose to spend more time with his family and as a result he loses his job, his car, his house until the family is finally forced to live on the streets.
I'd have to say 50 - 60% is mixed. SS currently has 35% on Rotten Tomatoes. I'd say the reviews for this are simply bad.

You've been awfully quiet over there, corpse of Joan Rivers.
