I was excited when I saw Oliver Platt show up in First Class. I thought Oh! He'll make a great Beast! But alas, I forgot. They all have to be kids.
Fair enough - that's actually the best explanation I've heard. I didn't have any particular love for the Phoenix Saga so that didn't bother me. In fact, I thought it would be way too hokey for the X-Men to go into space and get involved with aliens. But I get your point.
I just always see people dump on X-Men 3 and I honestly don't think THEY think it's as bad as they say. It's just cool to pile on Ratner. Seems unfairly maligned whenever the subject comes up. I mean, worse than— Have you seen Wolverine Origins? C'mon!
According to critics it ranks higher than both Wolverines and X-Men 1. I agree.
That's true. I forgot. He broke Harlem.
Kirk?
Nope. I'm one of Mr. Singers underage friends. Ooooh, too much?
I assumed he was just an older, wiser Ross. I'm glad they included him. I thought they were ignoring that Hulk movie. Besides, as Let'sBeFriends notes, he does ask were Banner is and adds "If I lost two thirty mega-ton bombs you can be sure I'd have to answer for that!" Kinda implies he knows what the Hulk can do.…
More evidence to support my theory that most of the hate toward The Last Stand is simple Ratner bashing (these movies teach tolerance, people. Don't be fear and haters!) From Rotten Tomatoes:
Also I really hate how Havok's power is depicted on screen. Like a purple lazer hula hoop.
I loved how he was introduced by reading while hanging upside down. Straight outta the comics.
She shoulda been the focus of the NEXT movie - since they couldn't afford to do her justice with the budget of the first. Then they could have gone to Africa to find a woman being worshiped as a god.
Really doesnt matter who wrote. The director didn't have to put it IN THE MOVIE.
"Whoopie woulda made it work."
In the commentary the guy with Singer suggests the line shoulda been "It croaks!" and the two of them actually laugh at that.
Technically I think she says If you're so proud of being a mutant, where's your mark?' referring to her mutant-pride tattoo.
Yeah, he was more like super-creepy man.
Apt Pupil's a piece of shit too. And what did we really love about The Usual Suspects? Is it the directing we remember- or the incredibly clever script.
God I forgot about/repressed that scene.
