There’s no cause to celebrate until the Rovers are returned intact. This regime doesn’t handle legal defeat gracefully.

Until the class warfare rhetoric of 2009, F430s were all over the streets of La Jolla. They looked much better in traffic than the 458 does, which has a serious butter face. They’re sort of like C5s in that sense, in that they look awkward in photos but great surrounded by the sea of shitty grey lease barges that make…
The government is just a national sized version of Oprah taking credit for giving away GM’s shitty Pontiacs. Everybody Gets a Subsidy!! Will the idiots that justify taking tax money because everyone’s doing it recognize their role in our demise when inflation can’t be denied anymore and a tiny increase in interest…
Kurt’s a fun driver to watch, but it does seem that he has had some impulse control issues publicly. Driscoll? She’s starting to sound like a budding Hillary Clinton.
I needed a duplicate license from the Virginia DMV. A few months later I got pulled over for speeding and the officer said, “your license is suspended.” I said, “no, it is not.” He gave me the ticket for speeding and told me how to get into a young driving offender class to keep it off my insurance. I completed the…
No problem. I used to really love BMWs, and I still remember lots of this stuff. The new ones have succeeded in turning me off completely, having worshiped at the Four Cylinder Building for 25 years.
Is there any reason to believe that the replacement headers are any better engineered and constructed than the originals?
And the cyclists must have been the least athletic, wussiest people alive; having been run down by drunk off duty cops that were on foot.
I live in San Diego. We’ve had pedicabs downtown for years, and they are a plague on the city. Because of that, I see what you’re getting at with the pedalpubs. OTOH, it seems odd for cycling flotsam to be attacking them, and there has to be a better way of getting the operating rules changed than assaulting people…
In the US, the E24 was introduced as the 630CSi in 1977. BMW’s last carbureted car here was sold as a ‘76 model. We got the chassis updates for the ‘83 model year, while the 633CSi was still in production.
We had 630CSi models first. They are the ones to avoid. The 633CSi and 533i were the first emissions controlled BMWs to run strong strong from the factory, although the 1979-1981 E12 528i at least ran reliably.
Two of the 633CSis available locally have less than 64K miles and the nice one is $6,600.
There are four of them in my local Craigslist, and the most expensive is less than $7k. They’re automatics, but so are most remotely affordable CSs. My friend has his 3.0 CS getting converted to a 5-speed from an automatic at La Jolla Independent right now.
The CS was lighter, simpler, better looking; but the 6 is the car that actually makes sense as a practical classic. They didn’t get delivered to the dealers with structural rust issues in the rocker panels, from ‘79 they had reliable emissions controls, and they can be had cheaply.
These are nice cars, but rust is why they don’t belong on any list of good cars, let alone great ones. They make Vegas look galvanized.
Nice! I didn’t realize it was one of your racing cars, but now I recognize the license plate in the photo with the motor home.
AMC Hornet.
Put anyone next to post-lobotomy David Letterman and you will see their best.
