I’d bet dollars to donuts the Lucid cannot maintain its higher rate for the full charge either.  There’s a butter zone where it ain’t empty and ain’t full and that’s when you can really pile on the amps, and that’s going to be the case no matter who made it.  At either side of that sweet spot, things have to slow down.

And unless Lucid has some crazy battery heat displacement tech (and general chemistry improvements, which is highly doubtful) they’ll have the same peak-vs-total “problem” Tesla has.

You missed Jalopnik getting a chance to dunk on Tesla.

As batteries get closer to being fully charged the charge rate has to drop, so I think they are providing 2 different metrics for charging. As it gets closer to that 300 miles in 20 minutes mark, the rate probably drops below the 20 miles per minute rate. I agree it isn’t very clear.

Shall I start with the fact that unlike insurance companies they are not legally bound in anyway to pay the insured persons medical bills. Now I know health insurance companies are dicks at actually paying the bills & make you jump through a million hoops but in the end they are legally bound to pay the bills at the

It’s a tax scam that’s based on superstition rather than medicine. That might have something to do with it.

Yes, facing consequences for your actions and comments is stupid.

Exactly. Since when was ‘normal’ contact lense care not clean? Just the thought of it is yucky. Was the article sponsored by Luxotica?

I know they generate more waste, but switching to daily lenses has been a game changer for me, even pre-pandemic. They are thinner, less irritating, I touch my eyes less, they do not aggravate my allergy-itchy eyes, and no case is needed.

Are these not things that you should already be doing when wearing contacts?

When the benefits outweigh the annual fee. Simple Chase math, the freedom unlimited is free and gives 1.5% cash back, the Chase sapphire preferred (CSP) gives you 2% back at restaurants and travel along with a 1.25 multiplier when redeemed on travel for 2.5% total cash back. The CSP has a $95 fee, the freedom has 0.

I don’t think “IP” means what you think it means...

Volvo is really being extraordinarily shitty about this. Trying to screw over people presenting their product in a positive light to enhance their photos is truly hateful. I’m pretty sure the profit margin on an SUV or two would have easily paid for access the right way.

It was a photo of the California superbloom, you weirdo. Taking a picture with your car in it is not “profiting from Volvo’s IP”.

And just like that, I’m no longer interested in the XC40 EV.

You must have missed this:

Volvo: “We don’t need permission!”

You know what? Even THAT doesn’t truly encapsulate the shittyness here. This is like if a Volvo employee had gone to an art gallery where this artist was trying to sell his prints, with a camera, and took pictures of those pictures, and then went back to Volvo and posted those pictures to the website, and then claimed

I’m trying to think of a good comparison to this, and I think I have one. This would be like if back in the day, Car and Driver bought a copy of Cars magazine, and then re-printed pictures from it in their own magazine. And when they got sued, they then claimed that because they bought a copy of the magazine, they

I have had that issue with Caterham. They have used my picture of their yellow 620R on a few occasions without any credit and only added credit after I happened to see their post and asked for credit.
