That’s exactly what I did. In 1997 I needed a car to get to my job and really wanted a brand new Prelude (still do!) but instead found a Miata for $4000 cash. Even had a big dent in the body but it was transportation. 

It was good money back then. When I needed a car in 97 or so to get to my job, I looked at the brand new Prelude I wanted but bought a used Miata for $4000 cash instead.

They took the interior part that nearly everybody hates and took away the only thing that many people could justify about it: that it makes it easier to see. Then they emphasized the part that everybody hates about it, that it looks like a removable tablet. Double fail.

Awesome that it works, and it reminds me I’ve got a USB charger that lets you put in AA batteries. It dies pretty quickly on modern phones but it would be enough to get a 911 call out.

Many if not most digital music purchases these days are DRM free. Amazon and Google provide mp3s for example. I think iTunes also has DRM free music in their own format (AAC?).

The fair comparison would be to ICE + transmission, so tack on an extra 200 lbs or so for your typical auto. That means this McLaren thing is about 350 lbs lighter than the analogous ICE components.

It’s really nothing more than just a ranking system now. It is at least internally consistent. So right now you’ve got a 320, X2 28, 330, X2 35, 340, etc. They all progress pretty consistently and then you start adding Ms to the *40 models to differentiate even more power. 

I guess technically it does in that this is the top performance level available for the X2 and the GLA AMG is the top performance level for the GLA.
