I grew up in a militantly clean household where every Saturday morning you were assigned a list of duties to complete before leaving the house and even our mudroom has clutter. That said THROW THE CANDY AWAY YO. Signed, Didn't Know My Roommate Put Our Old Candy Bowl Behind a Chair and We Got So Many Ants I'll Never

My first take was Luther the TV show, i.e. righteously angry, brooding, witty Idris Elba which....yes please I’d watch that debate.

It's the hat for me. Few people have ever looked less natural in a ball cap, but they could have at least gotten her one that didn't look like the adult version of an American Girl Doll outfit from the 90s.

Glad you’re doing better and fuck all that bullshit. I had a rough bout with disordered eating tied to competitive running. You’re right about it never really going away - I have to be careful when I start exercising more frequently not to get carried away. What kills me are all the fake diet/exercises that Instagram

I always assumed it's because the main character is a teenager who is the wooorsssst and they think students will find him relatable or something??? We had to read it in hs English and my teacher routinely mocked it which made the read enjoyable.

I also think that one of the most important reasons we should cultivate a love a reading is empathy and emotional intelligence. If we provide young people with a variety of literature that allows them to experience new worlds and viewpoints, we create better rounded adults than if we beat them over the head with the

Hamlet is a great text for hormonal, moody, dramatic teens. I was lucky to have great HS lit teachers across the board, but the man who taught Hamlet made it so fun and relatable it got even the most obstinate kids engaged.

Did they more or less write out one of the leading ladies in Any Man for anti-vax bs?

This was very calming for my partner who has a lot of latent vaccine fear (generally logical but raised in an anti-government household so this whole thing is bringing up some illogical government tracking fear stuff). There are too many vaccines and too many people involved for some kind of overarching nefarious

I think no because she's talked about making their long relationship work in the past and admitted to having an "emotional affair." But of course you can have an open marriage and still have an unsanctioned affair/cheat so...

These people kill me because they always always seem to be the loudest about how hard this is and how much they're sacrificing or whatever. I know people who have made almost zero changes to their lives that weren't forced who are also waxing poetic about "one day we'll be together again and look back at all we gave

I saw a spoof of this before I saw the real thing...I didn't realize the comic was quoting her word for word...I assumed his lines were so outlandish because he was mocking her but...they're just... the real things she said. God has turned his eye from us.

This. I think the biggest issue is that the slogan doesn't actually have a unified definition. Even if you do your research and understand the nuances, you have to ask for clarification everytime someone says defund the police in order to understand which definition they're using.

I just moved from the Twin Cities back to the East Coast and I’d say both groups exist. The TC folks I know who are involved in police abolition are much more socioeconomically diverse. When they say defund the police, they mean wipe them out. When I hear people use defund the police in Boston, they’re usually more

My most 2020 result was “top podcast” aka the 1 minute of 1 episode of a relaxation/meditation podcast I listened to before (probably) flipping back to my “sorrowwwww” playlist. Maybe next year, mental health.

My dad is an emotionally mature and well adjusted human but famously proposed to my mom, came back a few days later (after she told everyone) and TOOK IT BACK, and then thought they could just go back to dating...

Which also by default devalues the hard work these women have done to land these jobs. It’s just the graduated version of college students who make fun of communications majors...

I felt like she held it together for the most part but clearly struggled in scenes with Hugh Grant, I assume because it’s harder to maintain your fake American accent when faced with a completely different one that’s still not your own. But I’ll have to check out Forbrydelsen because I thought she was captivating even

I kept hoping Donald was the killer all along who was eliminating a threat to his daughter/family!!! I wanted Hugh to go down for it and then Donald to reveal some minor detail so we/Nicole would know it was him but it could never be blamed on him.

Oh my god my sister had to do something similar after a scorched lentil incident. I think the turkey fire was just days of freezing with the windows open and the oven vent running :(
