@camneil01: Setting affinity only persists until the task is complete. It is not a permanent setting. The only reason I've used it is when there's too much dust in the system and I'm running hot on a video encoding session. I limited the task to a single processor to reduce heat. I did this manually years ago. It was one of the most freeing things I ever did. I'm back on Facebook now, but will only friend family members. Friends still have to socialize with me the old-fashioned way—email or cell phone.
