@resvrgam: Microsoft didn't force anyone to stop making PC games. They actually made it easier for game makers to make more money. Yes, there are licensing fees, but more games get sold. It's simple math. A $200 or $300 console means there's a ton more money to spend on games. That's a better market for the game

Honestly, I prefer that it happened this way. A worthy competitor to Nintendo and Sony in the console market was and IS a good thing for the consumer and gamer. And it's likely the original Xbox wouldn't have been sucessful and that Xbox 360 wouldn't have had the momentum it has without Halo.
