No more than any other white South African who witnessed the “replacement” of the white minority power structure in his country, who might be worried it’s happening in the rest of the world, too.

Many of the people in support of GOP fiscal policies would gladly eat dog food 3x a day so long as the “others” eat nothing. They vote against their own self-interest, but it’s more than that really- it’s voting for the dehumanization/disenfranchisement/overall disrespect of those they deem to be lesser than...…
Hint: that’s why Republicans are so staunchly anti-choice. More people equals fewer jobs to go around, and greater competition for those jobs. And what happens when more people compete for the same jobs? Businesses can offer lower pay, fewer benefits (if any at all) and worse working conditions.
This is also likely a result of what passes for “sex education” on the right these days. Some of things kids in Christian schools and conservative circles are being taught are truly bonkers – stuff that has zero basis in fact but is being taught because it validates their extreme views about human sexuality.
fuck this.
“When Slovenia sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re sending people that have lots of problems. They’re bringing violent insurrection. They support putting children in cages. They really don’t care. And some, I assume, are good people”
Exhibit A of the fact that is no liberal media bias or liberal bias of any kind in this country. Can you imagine any prominent liberal figure taking this stance? They know they will get buried even by their base, so every support of any kind of protest is always preceded by non-violence.
While I’m not shocked and surprised at the Supreme’s decision, I am shocked and surprised at the shock and surprise of those who seem stunned at the decision.
Now Manchin and Collins are whining that they felt that the last three Justices misled them during their confirmation hearings when it came to considering Roe settled law.
Which is fantastic for people privileged enough to travel there but still leaves millions with nowhere to turn.
The problem in the US isn’t people not voting.
Yep. You can’t write about the fall of Roe without talking about the part that modern feminists played in it. The Bernie obsession in 2016 is one part, the other being how they neglected abortion rights and took them for granted, instead focusing on other superfluous fights while conservatives played the long game.
To be fair re: Harris, she seems to have vanished from the coverage of virtually all news sources, liberal or right-wing, for the last year or so. It’s been quite curious/odd. It’s happened before with VPs, but I’ve never seen it happen to such an extreme degree.
No the Democrats don’t control the Senate thanks to two DINO’s who would rather watch the country burn if they can stand on the top of the ash heap.
They’ve already protected themselves from that. Abortion is still legal in Kansas so the GOP faction in KS re-drew the voting districts to dissect the liberal strongholds that have historically kept abortions legal. The liberal gov tried to veto it but was overruled. Liberals sued but a GOP appointed judge upheld the…
It’s very weird to see Jezebel rewrite it’s attitude to the 2016 elections. Most of the writers have left now, but this site was decidedly anti Hillary Clinton.
ship done sailed.
I wonder how these Constitutional “Originalists” consistently get past the whole “well regulated militia” part (I mean I know... it’s the same way “Christians” ignore the “love” part of Jesus’ teachings but still)?
I know that in response to this and when they overturn Roe next week and all the other nightmare shit we’re dealing with in this country we need to stay organized, to keep fighting, to vote, and to not give up, but I can’t help but feel anything but absolute despair. That between a 40 year campaign to take over the…
It's bad enough to warrant being there three times.
