I like her quite a bit, but her humorless response to people’s jokes about her bad English accent was disappointing.

They wouldn’t have to do that if the movie didn’t script itself into a corner. In a movie like this, you’re supposed to root for the kid, not feel bad for the “robbers”.

Nobody’s ready to talk about it, but that poverty tourism was a way more egregious Best Picture winner than Green Book.

But he did make Creed, which had a sizeable budget, was connected to lore, and had to be big and crowdpleasing (and a bit quippy). He also showed a flair for staging action in it. Zhao has nothing like that on her resume.

They didn’t hire him to direct episode 17 of a tv series (and incidentally, shows HAVE hired directors like that for series and they’ve done fun stuff while ignoring what happened before it), they hired him to direct Ant-Man and while they were deep into pre-production they said “By the way, here are several scenes

I’d love for them to do Kingdom Hearts adaptations. First one everyone loves because it’s straightforward. By the third, everyone is sitting there going, “Wait, who the fuck is this now?” because they didn’t know there was a ton of homework to do before seeing it.

Cute answer, but obvious bullshit. He had to know the Holmes and Watson script sucked, so why do that and not Elf?

Why would that be criminally low? How much do you think he got paid for Sonny Corleone or even Misery, when he was like the 15th choice to play that part?

I mean, yeah they probably did change because he had to alter his whole lifestyle to look like that. I’m sure he still like video games, but he’s playing them a lot less.

It’s so weird that people get defensive for Kumail and say “no no, he did this without steroids”. No one is accusing him of committing a crime by juicing up, they’re just accurately describing what it takes to get that kind of physique.

Coo be.

I was a big fan of those early seasons, especially Arrow’s second season, but best seasons of television imagined? Cmon man.

Are there really fans who blame Saward for the show getting cancelled and not JNT or Jon Powell?

It didn’t make the cut because that episode predated Cable Guy by 8 months.

This was terrific, he seems like a great guy.

It’s Starro the CONQUEROR. Put some respeck on that man’s name.

That wasn’t cancel culture, that was a production company making a cynical decision that wasn’t being demanded by anybody. No one asked for 30 Rock or Community to pull episodes from circulation and many activists were offended that was done.

I can’t believe that wasn’t the first comment. Someone take this out of the grays, that was my first thought, too.

You said “Um” like the author should have known he was in some shitty indie movie that’s more remembered for it’s bonkers commercial than it is for the movie itself.

Really bold ending, too. That wasn’t based on a novel. King wrote a bleak ending and the network did it and it’s very creepy.
