I can remember towns from many games vividly.  The rains falling in ruined Zozo (FFVI) or Burmecia (FFIX).   FFVIII had everything from sleepy seaside towns (Balamb) to massive Gardens and futuristic cities (Esthar).  FFVI in particular had a couple of vivid towns.
