I would think having actual scientific training would make some of the bits on the show pretty hard to take. But then I heard somewhere that she's an anti-vaxxer so I guess she doesn't think like a scientist in her daily life.
It got some better — the first part of the first season was a lot of "ha ha, nerds are funny" and then later they started being more about the individual characters themselves. Also most of the cast are good.
