Same here.

That was his Saturday morning TV series.

Good review. Can that one guy really be monogamous with two other people? Doesn't 'mono' mean 'one'?

It's binary, they should call her 'Three'.

The music was super Carpenter but there's also hints of The Thing. Like the part where someone was watching The Thing.

The fans and the way they played the Hip on the local rock radio station kept me from being a fan until probably the mid-90s, probably because my wife played them a lot (she was a fan from the first EP).

Dammit, I was wondering who bought all the Vancouver tickets.

I saw that song live at the Junos and Gord came out to sing his part, it was pretty cool.

That's a good list.

"Fireworks" is actually probably my current/most common favourite Hip song…not sure it's *that* representative of their work though, except the Canadian reference filled lyrics.

That is a career as a witness to music history. (I am not being sarcastic.)

The last few lines of "Fireworks" did it for me — "This one thing's always supposed to stay".

These are the Daves I know. A gaming club I was in in university had a 50/50 Dave to non-Dave ratio (with a couple of dozen members).

I watched it and yeah, he sounds pretty bad, almost as if he were mortally ill. I feel a tiny bit better about not having been able to get any tickets to any of the nearby shows. The band killed it though.

That is the best.

You could have recorded it and watched Blue Rodeo live. Or tried to sell the tickets…probably a tough sell though, I bet they have a lot of fan crossover.

One of Blue Rodeo even quit — he said it was to go work in a library but I bet it was just so he could watch the Hip.

I didn't like the new stuff hearing the album but seeing them play it live on TV it was pretty good.

Good point, CBC Music is excellent, I've found a lot of stuff on there.

PUP rock live, I don't really listen to their albums though.
