Gilligan's Island, I bet the Professor could cure cancer.

Why the hell would anyone check Twitter if they weren't caught up on all their pop culture? I never check it after a TV show airs or a movie or book comes out that I want to see.

My teen daughters watch it (I don't think they've seen every episode but they are caught up enough). They told me Derek died and I was actually kind of surprised.

I'm sure Cisco is enough of a techno wizard to set up a camera with a timer.

That is the version I always think of, my friend put it on a mix tape for me once. (Actually it was just two taped LPs but he had some space and stuck SBS on there too).

Kay is so good. I usually prefer SF to Fantasy but his just hits all the right notes. His recent books set in pretend-China were some of my favourites.

Like, "after my vacation it took me a whole week to explicate my suitcase"?

Shouldn't he be "Arrows"? Who would be scared of him if he could only shoot once?

I grew up Catholic and only the last couple of years did I not get the confessional. It kind of felt weird actually.

Well sure if you watch it backwards like that.

Stampy? My condolences. My nine year old got into that this year.

How is it Dinosaur Train when the main family is pteranodons?? They aren't even dinosaurs!

That is true about Caillou — his whiny voice is like the skeletal finges of the dead scraping on your coffin. But Little Bear is mostly harmless.

I just finished How We Got to Now (but I haven't watched the TV series). It's pretty good — I don't know what genre it is. Connectionism? It reminds me of that old James Burke TV series.

I don't know why you would read the Novik series if you're not interested in dragons. I liked the series myself but yes, they don't really get a lot better as they go on. (Not a lot worse, either, I've usually been pretty satisfied with them.)

Whew, thanks for spoiling the end of that Hornby, now I don't have to read it.

Despite working within sight of where Lowry lived when all his manuscripts caught fire and having been to a couple of "Under the Volcano" festivals in the area, I have never read the book. I should.

Seconded — I don't know his music at all (heard a few songs here and there) but the book was great.

The sister series set back in the 'present' is way too long.

I just read that recently too, that was really fun. I was surprised I hadn't run into it as a kid.
