The Warriors opening credits gets me in the mood for bopping.

His writing style is just not engaging for me in the least. Coupled with a certain smug sense of cleverness, I found it really off-putting and frankly insulting to the reader.

I have thrown precisely one book in the trash in my entire life and it was Heart-Shaped Box. Joe Hill is an awful writer.

“Wishing Well” into “Heartbreak a Stranger” into “See a Little Light” is THE breakup trio for me and they all happen to be in a row on this album. That they are so tonally different and use different parts of his voice and guitar playing is part of the charm. Just a gut punch.
