Absolutely t might not have worked — which was Mack’s “let Daisy do her part — no matter the cost” line.

Not to mention Daisy had her mother’s DNA in the Centipede serum that should help with the whole healing thing. I also got the impression from Coulson’s hesitation to leave her to face Nathaniel alone that there was a tiny chance that the plan might not work out as they intended. Wouldn’t be the first time the writers…
A few years ago, when trying to convince someone that AoS had improved beyond series 1, I sent them clips of both those fights to show just how good the choreography had gotten.
Apparently, a neck snap is permanent, but quaking yourself to death and then having your body go frozen floating in the vacuum of space is only a minor inconvenience for Kora’s raise-the-dead powers.
I loved all the final references and call backs. From 084 to Hand and Grace to Lola. I loved that Piper and Flint were back and that Davis got resurrected. I loved the one final tie-in into movies with Endgame quantum real time travel even though it looks like Snap didn’t happen in the timeline of Agent’s of SHIELD…
I also loved the construction of the story.
Man, that sequence even looks good in gif form. Though I am rather partial to Daisy’s one take John Wick sequence from season 3 I think it was.
Less cathartic? Immediately walking back Daisy’s sacrifice to take down Malick by letting Kora resuscitate her back to life. Apparently, a neck snap is permanent, but quaking yourself to death and then having your body go frozen floating in the vacuum of space is only a minor inconvenience for Kora’s raise-the-dead…
Bittersweet?
I was ready for this big Umbrella Academy battle, akin to what we saw at the beginning of the season, but the team got owned, and as a commenter said on one of the earlier episodes, the siblings aren’t shown kicking ass with their powers nearly as much as they should be. (Powers has been a point of contention with me…
It doesn’t really matter since they end up in an alternate timeline anyway, but I’m confused why the Hargreeves felt safe to return to 2019. Undoing that year’s apocalypse was part of the Handler’s “jazz” offer, which they didn’t end up taking. Or are we meant to assume Herb offered them a similar deal?
That would also suggest that Ben was on both teams and both died and did not die. Unless the next step we see is a reveal that Klaus can’t actually commune with the dead, he just thinks he can while it’s just the trappings for how his telekinetic and precognitive abilities work, it’s gotta be an alternate timeline.
In Season 1 Klaus talks to Sir Reginald int he afterlife, so he’s supposed to be pretty definitively dead in the show.
But Hargreaves is dead in the original timeline’s 2019 (as far as we know). I don’t doubt he could have faked his death, but it’s another indication that things are different now.
They’re not necessarily in an alternate timeline.
It feels notable that the toy Harlan is spinning with his powers is a little wooden bird that looks an awful lot like a sparrow.
I’ll have to watch again but I understood Sissy was also worried about getting separated from Harlan doing the time travel. After all, that’s the only example she has of what happens when a group of people jump. So I can see her believing she can keep him safe as long as he’s with her. But if he ends up in a different…
My impression was, in the scene from the season premiere where the Russians invaded, when Diego twirled off the car he actually deflected the bullets being shot at him. They curve, I believe, which is one of the reasons I was intrigued by Diego’s obsessions with JFK. So definitely a new facet of his ability but I…
The blocking, and Diego’s reaction, make me confident that it’s Diego doing this. Great stress, in these kinds of stories, often brings out powers that they didn’t know they possessed. Luther leapt skyscrapers in a single bound and took an RPG hit without a scratch earlier. Ghost Ben discovered he had possession…
Sissy’s decision to stay really bothered me. She asked if Vanya could guarantee Harlan would be safe from anyone pursuing her, and of course Vanya could not, but consider: Vanya is wanted by the US Govt on suspicion of being a Soviet agent involved in the J.F.K assassination. Vanya is known to have stayed at the…
