And then put him in NYC as a beat cop sometime in 2010ish to get him ready for a couple years down the line.

Well, Jemma’s interaction with May proved definitively that she is not an LMD so the EMP wouldn’t have affected her. Basically when May was touching Simmons she felt her emotions but she felt nothing from LMD Coulson when she touched in later in the episode.

I especially liked that Sousa was particularly skeptical and negative toward Jemma (whose accent in the previous episode he dismissed as terrible, which Daisy found hilarious) since she dared imitate his beloved Peggy

It’s not like they really had that much time. The last two episodes seem to all have taken place in one day (for the Agents), two at tops. To them, Enoch’s been gone less than 48 hours, and they know he’s a chronicom who observed earth for 30,000 years, presumably by himself for most of that time, and had no qualms

That’s why you always need a newness indicator with your temporal cue. If AOS had a radio host tell us that the song was new, we would know the when for sure.

Agent inner monologue

He was with the guest stars, but he got the “and” spot.

I was sort of surprised and disappointed in how little concern the agents showed about their newer “recruits.” They didn’t even think about a way to pick up Enoch, and Deke had to save himself, apparently because not even his own grandmother was bothered enough to even leave the quinjet to look for him.

Im really going to miss How Shield is able to do episodes that you could consider filler or void of action yet still remain engaging. Only a handfull of episodes since turn turn turn waaaay back in season 1 could i call less than average and even those ones i generally liked.

I am legit thrilled that Sousa is more than just a two-episode cameo! The actor’s so good, and having a new players on the Zepher dealing with all of the show’s craziness is just fertile ground for some fantastic scenes.

Having Victor Garber around to burst into song certainly always helps.

Oh man I hope we get to keep Enver Gjokaj as Sousa for a while—his name was in the main title credits at the beginning of the episode I am pretty sure & not just with the guest stars.

Given that SHIELD first debuted in the ‘60s it’s definitely an odd move (unless they’re gonna throw us a curve and end up there later on).

Everybody is OK with leaving Enoch behind because his best friend Fitz isn’t around to stick up for him. Even the fellow robot won’t let him sit at the cool kids’ table.

Surely that’s a problem with literally any temporal cue, right? They could have landed outside a crappy theater showing Sixteen Candles and the only year it couldn’t have been starting after 1984 is 2020.

The problem with using No More Mr. Nice Guy as your tease is that they could be picking it up anytime between its release and the present.

Whatever’s up with Jemma certainly has more to do with her age than her physical composition.

There was a point during the voiceover when that, combined with Coulson being an LMD, made me suddenly feel like I was listening to Murderbot. And now I wish Clark Gregg would narrate the audiobooks.

Got to say this is one of those gimmick episodes I just didn’t get much out of. The noir aesthetics were nice I guess but there wasn’t a whole lot of story to boost it up. Kind of like with the Freddy Malick thing a few weeks ago they didn’t really ring too much out of the drama and idea of saving Sousa. Though it

Elegant solution to the Sousa dilemma, plus we get to keep Enver Gjokaj around for a while.
