I politely disagree—but I’ll happily acknowledge that I often sit closer to my 65" than other people. But whatever works for the consumer and their television space.

German cockroaches. Somehow I remember that from my childhood. I’m sure there are other kinds too, but particularly those.

That’s smart. I think my family, last time I was there, just....dealt with it. Wait long enough, and it rains, and humidity ceases to be an issue until it stops raining.

I wouldn’t dispute South Korea has better weather, by virtue of...not being in the tropics....so yes, the humidity is tough (still better than the nightmare that is rainless summers, which I’ve experienced a few times in the U.S.). But no, the roaches aren’t as big as many other places (in fact, they’re pretty average

Bullshit, Brian, you’re not fooling me. I know exactly what those are.

The roaches aren’t that big. Not Austin, Texas big. At least not in Taichung. If you live in the countryside, you’re taking your life into your own hands.

Hmm, now I’m wondering if playing Rock Anthem for Saving the World while reading about the trillion-dollar nuclear arsenal upgrade plan (the one from back in 2009, that’s been expanded since) makes me less upset at the whole thing.

In the year 2018, Xbox One controllers still, inexplicably, don’t have rechargeable batteries built in.

Bluetooth controllers also have worse lag than (other) RF (Digital Foundry has done more than one excellent piece on why PS4 controllers have tiny amounts more lag than XB1 controllers in the same games). Not that any normal human being could easily tell, I suspect.

That’s a pretty good Kasumi!

It’s nice, but I’m not a huge fan of the triple-decker Playstation 4 Pro design in general, and the translucent casing doesn’t really change that. But you have to work with what you have.

Haha, fair point. I’m pleased to hear your name isn’t just a coincidence (wh-what, Samantha Bee?). Though yes, the Soviet ideological anchor of internationalism (a outgrowth of Marx’s historical predictions that was reinforced in the devastating years of the early Russian Civil War, when much of the world was aligned

If you can ever find it at that budget point, I’d recommend this LG IPS panel, which I believe is the same model I have, albeit with a thicker bezel and a simple stand (but this one does go 90 degrees....so that could be handy). If it is, it’s a fantastic gaming panel paired with a GTX 1080 or GTX 1080ti.

*With the exception of Crimea which, since an unrecognized 2014 referendum, has been a federal subject of the Russian Federation (technically two, with Sevastopol as a federal city), thereby reversing the controversial 1954 decree of the USSR’s Supreme Soviet (parliament) to transfer the Crimean Oblast between two

That example actually came to mind immediately, as it might be the most successful natively-Sinophone franchise (and I don’t think the TV adaptations are that low budget...well, compared to other fantasy shows, I guess, or maybe they are). There’s a caveat though: The Legend of Sword and Fairy (仙劍奇俠傳), or just Chinese

A simple way of looking at it (maybe too simple) is that 20th century communism—or Marxist-Leninism as it was often called, and the ideologies derived from it in turn—had a deep interest in experimentation with nationalities (unlike it’s anti-religious bent, it was deeply fascinated with the notion of nationalities,

God help us. It’s 1996 all over again.

I dunno. The game puts it there, I usually pick what looks like a nicer color. I don’t wear makeup, but ironically have very red lips as part of my face.

Oh, that makes some sense. I do still play The Sims 4, and I’m very confident that most of my Sims are, in fact, female—that’s what happens when most of the various fictional personalities I try to recreate and drop into that world tend to be female—but I honestly don’t think I’ve ever given any of them makeup besides

I have to ask: are “hot women” in The Sims 4 actually, well, hot?
