In case there was any confusion, Superbad meant Microsoft’s own XB1 Elite Controller, which is very different than what you’ve described.
It looks cool, if kind of crude and roughly finished (I mean, it’s a homemade effort, what do I expect?) next to Halo 4 and 5. Hopefully they don’t encounter any legal trouble for their valiant effort.
I will politely disagree—I think the default XB1 controller was better in almost every respect, if subtly, than the DS4 (itself a huge improvement over the Dualshock 3, which, along with the Sixaxis, was just, well, terrible). Then again, I own an elite controller now and just use my launch controller with my PC.
I’m only starring that because the pun made me laugh. Shame on you.
Seriously. Even if you absolutely want one, be aware before the end of this year, a used console will likely be available extremely discounted (as people trade up for Neos), further compounded by retailers desperately wanting to unload new old-model consoles to make selling space for the PS4.5 (and potentially the PS4…
It’s a little rough looking from some angles (but hey, whatever—I also complained about the Xbox One S being only available in white for the time being). As for the question of “Who will buy it,” since it seems increasingly likely the original PS4 model will be obtainable for very cheap by the end of this year (as it…
If you want to apply for temporary healthcare insurance in the United States, you are required to have a fax machine or access to one, where I live. I learned that the hard, annoying way.
Indeed—it’s hard to imagine that procrastinating on the announcement was probably a smart, business-savvy mood on the part of Sony even if it did potentially hurt a certain kind of consumer (and it’s a decision one could easily see other companies making). It’s not the first decision of that kind a platform-publisher…
Than one of those signs should be an official announcement (and the more warning, the better for the consumer, if not necessarily beneficial to the company). Assuming a release before the end of the year, Sony is cutting it too close for comfort (but they could’ve done worse—literally waiting to the last moment—they…
Honestly, that’s what I’d use it for—I have two SSDs and two hybrid media drives (I’d prefer WD Caviar Blacks, seeing how I’ve had two SSDs fail out from under me in the last <3 years). I’d be using this as the basket, not the eggs.

Yeah, the comfortable majority (if not all) Halo limited editions go on massive discount within a few months. You can still find a new-in-box Halo 3 collector’s set.

Someone pointed that out (the teraflop estimations suggest it might be 3 times as powerful, but we won’t know until Sony actually announces). I misspoke, but I don’t feel that changes the problem described in the least.
That’s fine. I think there’s a difference between the inevitability of successive products, and how long a company takes to announce them relative to their releases. I avoided bringing this up, but Microsoft’s Project Scorpio was announced at E3 with more than a year warning. So it’s a little less inevitable.
I believe you’re correct (similarly, it won’t be several times the price)—I think by the TF estimations it’s roughly three times (but that’s only one metric). That was a error on my part.
Well, don’t you dare grumble about it. ;)
Well, no one’s suggested grumbling is mandatory. But people grumble about day-one DLC and abusing pre-orders. And there’s no more way around those either than pointing out the obvious (if unlikely) remedies. Is it really that much better to the affected party to not talk about it?
This, or no sale.

I think it’s a perfectly fine thing to grumble about it—we’re not picketing storefronts, we’re exchanging opinions about a recurring practice we don’t agree with, and giving a specific reasoning behind that opinion, as oppose to a vague or otherwise unspoken one.
Plus, no matter how you dice it—a few months + 1 year is substantially better than a few months by itself. The former is a chunk of what we consider a normal console generation.
