I miss Warren Zevon. I saw him in one of his dips of fame at a small club in Toronto in the winter of 1990. Worth driving to in an ice storm.
A few songs are like that. I remember “Little Pink Houses” by John Mellancamp got used in presidential runs by McCain, Bush, and Reagan. It’s not an anthem of present and future glory, but it is a great song. People just don’t listen to the lyrics.
