what Pwolfamv said isnt totaly right, you can also land some of the smaller ships in free flight and if there is more to them then just the cockpit you can walk around in them. ships like the 300I and cutless.

as a SC player I can agree with you on that it is a BAD idea to just flip over in combat, ((that said I do enjoy many of the other tricks that you can pull with a 6 dagree of freedom flight model. )) How ever in SC atlest you can flip as well as striff up down left or right. so your vector can keep changing…
