You must always be on-line because your city is stored in the cloud (i.e. EA's server park). Why? Because there are ongoing completions and statistics between players and regions. So this storage solution will make it harder for cheaters to cheat by accessing their cities data.

The play-testing (i.e. looking for bugs in the game mechanics) and things like that is done by in-house testers or outsourced to a game-testing company. These public available beta tests is only to stress test the equipments and to gather data in a large scale.

Wouldn't that create unfair matches? I've never really played a FPS-console-game, but I'm under the impression that a avid PC-player have much better aim than a avid console-player, due to mouse vs. stick.

I just hope that this won't become a SimCity: Societies-debacle. That was just something without the SimCity-soul, waiting to be put out of its misery. Ok, it maybe wasn't a debacle, and it maybe didn't needed euthanasia. I still played it. But I never got the SimCity-feeling, like a project that I could work on for

SimCity is, and have always been, a sort of arcade city simulator. With "Arcade" I mean that they have sacrificed the realistic for the fun. But I agree, 20'000 seems a bit to low for skyscrapers. It might be because this is the tutorial-city. And with the controlling of neighbouring towns, you could do that already

I have never played anything from the DmC-serie, but I know this; if one company is the solely developer of a game series, the fans can never be pleased if another developer is choosed to produce a sequel, for what ever reason.

is the video mute, or are Chrome broken?

So now I should have a weird out-of-body experience the 10% of the time I'm not hidden? Also, to make it third person would make a totally different game, it would distance the experience and not make it close and personal. Third person would make Corvo into an actor, while the first person makes me into Corvo.

I liked the music as it was. Many others would probably just have chosen death metal because quote "it's so cool bro!" unquote.

I don't think third person would have worked in Dishonoured. There's to many small and cramped areas. Whenever there's an open area in the game, I'm always on a ledge or behind a corner. Corvos body would always be in the way of my view.

I think the biggest reason SimCity needs a always-online-connection is not that the servers need to do proccesing because of their pure strength, but instead that they are online 24/7. SimCity is actually, if you think about it, a "Few Mulitplayer Online" game; where you can, if you want, play as the other few players

I have been thinking the same thing. That must be the most unique MMO.

I agree that the mechanics is the most important part of a game. But, the visuals comes right behind the mechanics, as they convey the experience of the mechanics while you're playing. Think of it like this:

What is a "doorway bullet"?

Developers almost never leave anything to chance, especially not veterans like Insomniac Studios, and certainly not anything like the visuals.

But at least there's always a chance that we get snow on christmas. ^^

If you don't want to be judged by your appearance; you shouldn't be a game, you should be a book.

There's a reason to why it's in first person, and that reason is immersion.

I have only played FFXIII and FFVII, but I know about the others thanks to YouTube. And based on the totally scientific YouTube-testings I have concluded that Final Fantasy XIII is the best one, apart from Vanille. Oh god how I hate her.

Fun fact: "Vilja" mean Want or Will in Swedish, and probably also in the other Nordic languages.
