I actually watched this show up until Park and Kim left. As procedurals go, it was actually really fun! The cast had terrific chemistry, the scenery was always gorgeous, and the action direction and stunt work were way more thrilling than just about any show of its ilk.

I can’t help thinking there’s a gap between the way Picard is now, and the way he once was

well i am watching the show, not reading it, and if you meant to refer to the review, i would challenge you to come up with an example and explain why it is “insightful, rigorous” - much as i provided an example for my assessment.

to be fair, even a lot of TNG cast and crew say the first two seasons are “nearly unwatchable” - but i admit to loving them as they are.

Jeeeezus, but you are hard on this show. One wonders if TNG would have even survived its early, pre-Riker’s beard seasons in the modern era.

Thanks for the shout-out to Stockard Channing. If Travolta was the reason to watch it when it first came out, she’s the reason to go back to it now. She does so much with so little material.

And thanks for “Sorcerer.” I saw it in the theater, and that scene on the bridge created incredible tension. I don’t know that I

A fine Christmas episode, but I think they’ve done better. It was good enough, but not all that memorable, probably just a solid B. The story was fine but it didn’t really pack in a lot of laughs. I did get a big laugh at Bob’s “NO YOU DON’T!” response to Linda saying she loved him after he’s been stuck with her in

Moving next door to Sarah Palin, who’s a nosy neighbor, and the idea of an exciting thrill-kill unites Eve and V in renewed affection. Perhaps on a bearskin rug in front of a roaring fire.

We’ll do a find and replace with “god awful shite”

I know lots of people love this show, and lots of other people hate it for the same reason I can’t connect with it (lots of Gen Xers trying to be artists don’t get enough help from their family to not have a day job while pursuing their quixotic dreams) but I just wanted to point out that this whole thing failed not

Ah, the old “Why don’t critics create” fallacy.  If that’s all you have, you’re clearly lost.

AFAIC, Dennis could just write, “The Simpsons isn’t as good as it used to be.” then take the rest of Sunday night off.

The episode about the TV critics must still sting.

I don’t know if it’s the great Elmer Bernstein score from Mockingbird or my fondness for the Homer/Lisa relationship but this one worked for me. It was sweet and it had a surprisingly touching point about fathers and daughters.

“There’s a long joke that ends with Abe actually punching Bart in the face. Tonally, it’s completely wrong.”

An episode devoted to TV sites and recappers and not one mention of the most important part of any review; the comment section. They screwed us out of a our moment!

That’s so not true. There were all kinds of good, non-Bob’s Burgers-specific lines here:

It will never happen just because of how awesome it would be. Imagine Kaep coming in and leading them to the playoffs, getting the fans on his side, and then, kneeling IN DC (OK Maryland) right in Trump’s backyard while also calling out Snyder on the team’s racist name/logo. It would be the perfect storm and it would

Regardless, I still think we should get into a fisticuff for some reason.

Not even a mention of the Bob’s Burgers opening?
