“My hair is an eternal mystery” - amazing line!

I enjoyed the episode, but silly me, I forgot to judge it against the ENTIRETY of the series. When will I learn?

Ok I’m going to disregard the actual criticism of the show in this column, I’m long past caring about how he doesn’t think The Simpson’s is as funny as it used to be.

Pretty much every sentence of this review reads as “the Simpson’s aren’t as good as they used to be.”  These reviews are like the friend who thinks they’re worlds by being “over the Simpson’s.” It’s really just annoying, I’ll avoid any future reviews and just continue enjoying the show.

You think the critics would say something about a plot line that was so patently offensive?  You might have a point.

The episodes would have to be 2 hours long to fulfill everything that this writer seems to expect. It’s a sitcom. An animated sitcom! Relax.

Ok I need to get to the important question - do we get another Stevie Nicks cameo!?!?!?  Please?

Ok, the errors have been addressed by others so I won’t mention them. Frankly, this episode bored me.

“Atlanta” is seriously what TV was made for! I also felt that way about “Community,” which strengthens the idea that Donald Glover is simply awesome.

I don’t think the script was trying to lay responsibility for Devin’s suicide on Earn and Al, I think the script was trying to convey that Earn might have felt responsible. The writing on this show is smart enough to know that suicide (teen or otherwise) if complicated and offering a simple explanation would be

“why does this show no longer trust its audience to follow rough patches between its two leads?”

This show is so great - I was about to start crying with Linda and Gene’s “reunion,” and Tina punctuated it perfectly with her “does anyone else feel like a third wheel” followed even more perfectly by Louise’s suggestion that they throw things at them.

In other cases I’ve tried to believe that I can disregard a star’s politics, but that simply isn’t possible with this administration. Barr’s support of him is disgraceful and pathetic - I can’t support anything she does. I can only suggest adding Tim Allen and Scott Baio to the cast so that I can ignore them all in

I agree with most of this, but I feel like it was off the point a bit to focus on Banacek - I’ve never heard of that series, but I loved this episode as a riff on 70s detective shows generally (of which Columbo was, naturally, the best).
