Im pretty sure you always throttle up when you hit the wire, in case of failure you need to be able to attain the same speed as take off or greater. Im sure those coming back to the boat light or with a higher degree of confidence in conditions land with less throttle.

That may make the most sense, but I work in a small hospital and we constantly are cramming our traumas onto helicopters to get them to bigger / more capable facilities. Sometimes its a matter of a few minutes to get them out, other times they want to stabilize and prep the patient which takes upwards of half an hour.…

But Coast Guard Cutters Carry a JayHawk (essentially a Seahawk) and a Dolphin and Stingray Choppers. Im pretty sure they’re all qualified.
