Yes, the US moved toward a service economy long ago, and we are *good* at it. We aren’t going to compete on the world stage by “bringing back” textile, coal, steel and horse and buggy jobs while deregulating all environmental protections. Trump is not a businessman. He’s rich because he could convince other rich

Sadly, this all works perfectly for him politically. His followers (perfect name for them BTW) think he’s being decisive and strong and bold. The turmoil pisses off his enemies and the calamity keeps him in the spotlight. Then, when he relents he claims victory because he brought things back to the way they were

The trade deficit thing just boggles me. We have a trade deficit because we don’t make stuff, not because we’re failing somehow. How hard is that to understand?

Little anecdote about losing parts manufacturers.

Yes but it would be the BILGLIEST owning of the libs. A very MASSIVE and BEAUTIFUL owning.

I'm done guessing with Trump. It boggles my mind that his believers (I no longer call them his voters) think he is this mastermind strategist. It's clear he has no clue what these topics are about, he's driven by emotion and doesn't have the attention span to think through the possible outcomes of what he does. He

Neutral: Of course it will be disastrous. There literally won’t be parts to make cars. The entire North American car industry will come to a standstill for weeks or months until alternative parts can be sourced. This is not hyperbole.

Thanks, I’m in the market for a new torque qrench and this one looks interesting. My old one has left me down in so many ways.

Been a slow day for me.  BTW love the recommendation for the split beam, need to order one cause I think I screwed up my Harbor Freight special

No I’m saying analog isn’t as accurate as digital when your BMW tires are 0.3 psi off.  Maybe I’ve been here too long

I never thought I could lust after a tool but that’s just sexy. Thanks for the wishlist addition!

Had one mid race. Heard a strange vibration, figured it was a wheel bearing. Finished the 15 mile stage taking it easy-ish. On the next short stage, I noticed I was getting crazy pad knockback and hopped out afterwards to discover all the nuts finger loose. I zipped them with the impact and drove on to win my class :)

Gonna be honest, that made me re-check a track near me that I was sure was pretty expensive to do anything at, and I saw that they have a couple less expensive days that I may try to attend.

I just need a helmet now...

<You can find parts from a lot of cars at Blackhawk. lol>

You’re arguing with Aught, a professional street racer with absolutely ‘l33t skills...

And a bonus - you can find parts of my engine near Turn 4 at Blackhawk.

<but the worst are the ones who say that being on track doesn’t give the same thrill. >

“being on track doesn’t give the same thrill”

When I lived in the Pacific Northwest I ran a couple of rallycross events and they were really welcoming. They even had loaner helmets. I showed up with about the most inappropriate vehicle possible (a diesel station wagon) and everyone thought that was pretty cool. I had a blast.

Seems like every other week or so I get at least one person wanting to race me at a stop light or on the freeway. I drive a BRZ. My car is slow as fuck. They are either looking for an easy laugh if I was stupid enough to try or dumber than nails (or perhaps both I guess?).
