for us at the track, we recheck the torque every time before we head onto track.  also do not over-tighten, as that can lead to lug failure and yes, your wheel can fly off then too!  

oh fully agreed. walk the track, collect some marbles, marvel at how high the kerbs are (the Montreal track have raised ridges). finagle your way to the garages to see them pack up their stuff. if you’re really good, finagle your way to behind the paddock. avoid that rush as much as you can!
