Actually if you replace enough of the parts they are fully interchangeable. You’d have to switch the bumper, taillights, and all the little associated pieces.

Yes but the point that seems to be missed is they are not talking about simply making 91 AKI available, they are talking about making 91 AKI the new “Regular” octane rating. Basically eliminating the refinement of 87 AKI. That is why this is a big deal. If the new regular is 91 AKI then it’s likely we’d see 94-95 AKI…

California has an exemption which is outlined in the federal clean air act. The exemption cannot be rescinded by a regulatory process it can only be removed via legislative action.
