From my experience there are generally two camps of VAG owners. The ones who love them and have no issues and the ones who don’t like them have a ton of issues. There is rarely any in the middle.

Is there a reference somewhere on what the actual running cost are for something thing like this. I’m a fan of the Boxsters but the badge has always steered me away.
I think I sold my Father-in-law on the Tacoma instead of the Tundra for this very reason. He’s probably average height, I’m 6'2" and I feel it’s too tall for me.

Completely understand. If you check out his YouTube channel, he has some barn find clean ups that might be what your looking for. The transformation is more dramatic the worst the initial condition.
Considering most Toyota products are consider “old” now, especially their large SUVs, you’d think people would stop buying them. The 4Runner, Land Cruiser and Tundra/Sequoia are all at least 10 years old. The 4Runner is still having great sales.
These are stupid cheap on the used market. I’ve been debating picking one up once my 4runner is paid for just to get my my manual jollies out.
