It's the 'celebrity' part that I find alienating. There are plenty of great films and documentaries about racial politics.

Cool. I was hoping to hear from someone who was similarly disinterested in the actual event at the time. I'll add it to my list.
Oh, I'm not saying that it will or won't hold up well (I haven't seen it) - I just don't think that this oscar ceremony hiccup will have any particular effect on it one way or the other.
Would it be worth watching if I lived through the OJ stuff (I'm 43) and never watched one second of the coverage because I was (and still am) completely mystified that people were interested in it, like, at all.
Really? You think that an oscar-ceremony fuckup is going to give the movie extra *years* of fame? I just can't imagine that's true. The movie will endure or not on it's own merits/the whims of fame and popularity.
It's just a Jackass spinoff where they build invisible fences then film people walking into them.
It was a reference to some red carpet interviewer (I think at the golden globes) asking one of the stars of Fences (I think) about what it was like to be in "Hidden Fences" and his subsequent facial expression.
Yeah, I mean it's not like she's a lock to get one or anything, but I could see her getting more parts with oscar potential.
Hah. Forwarded to my mom, who would eat her steak as a charcoal briquette smothered in ketchup if the rest of us didn't shame her about it. Perhaps associating it with Trump will get her to change her mind…
"The only steak I don't ruin with ketchup is one already ruined with teriyaki sauce"
Look out! It's The Mendicant!
It also sounds a lot like Arrow. Again, worse things to rip off.
/me punches triviaarmageddon in the dick.
Yeah, but Coulson and FitzSimmons were enough to keep me watching. As I said, I understand why others might have given up on it.
I don't, but hey, I don't have to watch him. I'm sure I watch things that you would find unentertaining (allow me to direct you to board game reviews on YouTube).
Wait his grandfather was awesome?
It remains to be seen how good he is at that second one. I for one am hoping he's a better actor…
Yes, that was the point the comments were making. Pensions are bad. Good job.
It would have been nice for Maher to not grant him a stage period, but fair point that bringing him on to berate him would not have accomplished much, but it is still asinine for Maher to take credit for his downfall.
Ah, of course.
