Yeah they're totally going to Meereen. Not across the Narrow Sea though, very good point. I guess they'd need to circumnavigate the whole of southern Westeros and go Summer Sea > Smoking Sea. Bit of a mission but I'm sure the Ironborn can handle it!

I guess to even be in a Ghostbusters remake you need to fall on the line between credible enough to get the gig and needing it enough to take the risk, which is why we got who we got.
Honestly, this movie was doomed from the start. Ghostbusters was the definition of lightning in a bottle. A stupid fucking premise with no inherent comedy potential, that just so happened to catch a group of people at exactly the right point in their collective lives and careers and end up, against all the odds, being…
Evil triumphs when good people do nothing though, right? I do think the sexism thing runs deeper than just the MRAs as well. It didn't seem to be at all a minority who reacted badly to the casting news. And they can say "Mellisa McCarthy" all they want, but at least some of the hate she gets is purely because she's a…
They're all wearing hoodies, they're supposed to represent halos. Yes I do need to get off IMDb.
I guess so. I suppose the thing is that we're still only assuming that the movie is bad (good movies have had bad trailers in the past, and certainly vice-versa) but we know for a fact about the MRA cockweasels. I get why professional publications aren't fully aboard the hate-wagon yet, which is all I think the tone…
As I say, based on what I've seen so far, I don't think it's going to be very good either. And the original is easily in my top 5 favourite films of all time, and means a great deal to me. And I don't feel anything approaching the anger about it's that emanating from the vast majority of the online commentary about…
Also known as "charitably overestimate the level of input she has into her own output" week. I'm not saying she isn't a phenomenal performer - she is - but the biggest acts get access to the best and most innovative writer / producer teams, so of course they produce the best and most innovative pop music.
Oh I'm with you, I could give two shits about Paul Feig (Sam Raimi wants his 'directing in a suit' gimmick back.) What I mean is it's a modernised, gender-swapped version of one of the most beloved movies of all time, that everyone's furious about. That's surely, at least, 'interesting'!
Loads from column A, little from column B. My hopes for this movie sank when I saw the trailer, because it looks like they've gone way broader with the comedy than the franchise deserves. The extent and the tone and the pitch of the overall response to the trailer, though? Yep, that was absolutely people being dicks…
Gareth Edwards, which is a worry. Goddamn can that guy suck the fun out of a decent premise.
>I don't find this movie interesting
But do you see how there are 100+ comments on here and no one is talking about his laugh or his atheism apart from the people defending him?
Extras wasn't self-lacerating at all. All Andy Millman's shortcomings were about the ways in which he wasn't like Ricky Gervais (his lack of personal agency, how he compromised his vision by making broad comedy, how he chose fame over critical respect, etc.) Series 2 in particular was at least 60% about how comedians…
50% is a stretch but you're right, he does talk about his appearance. That's not his issue though. All of his comedy is about how right he is and how wrong everyone else is. If that's your act, you need to leaven it with at least some sense of self awareness about your own weaknesses and failings or else it comes off…
The problem with Gervais is that all his comedy lashes outward. Just a smidge of self effacement would work wonders for this guy. An air of constant smug superiority is a hard thing to pull off, especially when you've been coasting on the success of an early hit for 15 years.
It's OK, I'm sure one of his hyper-defensive fans will pre-emptively bring those things up.
It wouldn't be so bad but Bolland's art in the comic is just so beautiful (insofar as naked Commissioner Gordon being led round by demonic bondage midgets can be described that way.) I get that you couldn't have animated his style exactly but this just looks shitty in comparison.
Or longer…
Who really watches 'live' TV at all any more?
