Let me see if you actually believe that. Lifetime is doing an adaptation of Steel Magnolias. In the play the women were white. In this adaptation they are black. It's abundantly clear that in the source material the characters are white, so do you think it's wrong to make that movie?

I can't speak about what the author wrote, because I haven't read the books. I think similar issues happen with all major adaptations, it's just race this time. I just don't like the idea of making a director stick to rigidly defined lines when it comes to adapting books to film
